About this policy

This explains what Atlis collects about you, why, and what you can do about it.

For the purpose of applicable data protection laws, The Theory Stick is the data controller of your personal information.

Contact: help@atlisdriving.co.uk

What we collect

When you create an account: your email address.

When you set up your study plan: your first name, your theory test date, and the topics you say you find difficult.

As you study: which lessons you have opened, which questions you have answered and whether you got them right, your mock test scores, and which questions you have saved.

When you use Theo: your messages to the tutor and its replies.

When you buy: a record that you paid, and a payment reference. Card details go directly to our payment processor and are never seen or stored by us.

Automatically: basic technical information from your browser needed to keep you signed in and keep the site working.

We do not collect your address, phone number or date of birth.

Why we use it

To give you access to what you paid for. To build and adapt your study plan. To let Theo answer questions about your own progress. To send you your receipt and account emails such as password resets. To fix problems and improve the course.

Our legal bases are performance of our contract with you for anything needed to deliver the service, and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and improving it.

Who we share it with

We use these processors, and only for the purposes above:

  • Supabase, for accounts and study data
  • Vercel, for hosting
  • Shopify, for payments
  • Resend, for account and receipt emails
  • OpenAI, for the AI tutor

Your messages to Theo are sent to OpenAI to generate a reply. Do not put anything sensitive or identifying into the tutor chat.

Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where data leaves the UK, it is protected by the safeguards those providers have in place, including standard contractual clauses.

We never sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and study data for as long as your account is open. If you ask us to delete it, we remove it within 30 days.

We keep basic payment records for six years because tax law requires it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or to object to our using it. You can also ask for it in a portable format.

Email help@atlisdriving.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your settings. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, so we do not show a cookie banner.

Children

Atlis is intended for learner drivers aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will tell you by email.

Questions about any of this? Email help@atlisdriving.co.uk and a human will reply.
